Chikuzen-oshima Tsuwase-kaigan

There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.

The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

Tsuwase beach is located at the west area of Chikuzen-Oshima island. There is the opposite side of the place where ferry terminal is located.

The ground is hard gravelly soil, so you will need strong tent peg, if you set up your tent here.

In the morning, the site is in the shade of the mountain, so it's cool.

The sea view is so beautiful. You will be able to enjoy camping.

There is no fireplace, but there are marks of the bonfire on the ground.

You can get many driftwoods as firewood at the beach.

It is a clean flush toilet.

There is another campsite at the east beach called Kashiro beach, and it is the opposite side of this beach. But there is no toilet at there, so Tsuwase beach is better than there.

I felt so good with the sound of the waves.

There is sandy beach at the right side of the campsite.

But the beach is mixed with gravel, so be careful of walking barefoot.

We can across to the island by ferry boat called Oshima. It is 25 minutes to the island.

And walking to the Tsuwase beach is 1 hour, so nobody visit and swim there. It is quiet place even in summer season.

Here is at the west-side of Island, so we could see the beautiful sunset.

There is the sign, it says " Prohibition of the use other than washing hand".
