There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.

The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

The campsite is located at halfway up the Minou-mountain range that is at the southeastern Kurume city area.

It is quiet place, because the parking lot is far from the campsite. The ground is soft soil and almost flat.

And another place is hard soil. That place is near the parking.

And a mountain stream that flows along the campsite. It is not so deep enough to swim.

The cooking facility is small. But it has a roof and fireplace. It is good enough.

There is a table for cooking too, so useful.

The almost of fireplace were broken. But the bricks in the fireplace are available, so you can make a small bonfire for cooking.

The restroom is at the parking lot. It is far from the campsite, but it is a clean flush toilet.

And the accessible toilet is available.

There is a observation deck about 2 minutes walk from the campsite.

The ground around here is beautiful lawn areas.

It looks suitable for camping, but in the night, some people visite here to see a night view, so it is noisy.

The scenery from the observatory is very beautiful.

You can see the Chikugo Plain from there. And a night view is so good too.

There is a water facility at the corner of the public square that is at the top of the steps from the parking lot. It is so useful.

The ground is so hard that you will have to use strong tent pegs, if you set up your tent.

I couldn't see even one firefly this time.

The wind from the mountain stream is so cool that we became cold.

The fireflies can be seen at night in summer.

There are many shades of trees, so it is so cool.

There were stray dogs in the campsite. Beware of theft of your foods.

It was weekend, so many people have been staying in the campsite. But there are many tent site in the park, so it was not crowded.

This time, we camped at the public square that is at the top of the steps from the parking. This place is close to the roadway, and it is noisy a little, but it is so wide and open place. and near the water facility. And there are many shade trees, so it is cool.

Unfortunately, the observation deck was grown over with weeds, so the view from there was not so good.
