There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.
The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

The campsite is located at the place that is 1.5km northeast from Garyusanroku-yowatabara park. The park is at the northwestern area of Kitahiroshima-cho town. The highland area lie around the campsite, and it is very cool and the air is delicious.
The lawn tent site has good exposure to sunlight, and a cool breeze was blowing through our tent.
There is the second tent site at the opposite side ot the mountain stream, but that is in the forest, so it swarms with mosquitoes.
It seems like an old facility, but it was cleaned well. The sink is made of concrete. The water from the faucet is very cold even in summer.
The ceiling light is so bright, but insects are swarming to a light.
Please watch your step you don't get bitten by mosquitoes.
It is a simple concrete-made fireplace.
The grill is low type, but it is integrated, so hard to use.
The restroom is also an old facility. It is a pit toilet.
It was not to bad because an administrator cleans regularly.
Usually there is nobody in the administrator's house.
If you want to use this campsite, you will need to fill in the application that is set at the entrance. And then please put into the post that is there.
In the next morning, the administrator visits your tent and checks that you had filled in the application.
Bears or poisonous snakes, many dangerous animal live in the campsite.
Of course, we need be careful about that, but please be careful of gnats too.
If you get bit by the japanese gnats, it will be very itchy for several days.
The mountain stream flow through the campsite and divid into the first tent site and the second tent site.
It is a very clear stream and cold water. That have shallow place, so little children can enjoy to play in the river.
