There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.
The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

The campsite is located at the northern area of Kaita-cho Town, and it is 2 km east from National Route 2.
This park is close to Hiroshima city area, so in spring season, it is crowded with many people viewing the cherry blossoms.
There are many tent pads in the forest. Most of those are for the small solo tent.
The sink is made of concrete.
The water from the faucet seems well-water, so you need to boil when you drink.
There are open fireplace.
Those are made of stone or U-shaped ditch.
When l visited here before, there was an old restroom.
Now, there are new temporary restrooms.
The small mountain stream flow through the campsite.
It is clear water, but I can imagine that the place swarms with mosquitoes in summer.
It seems that someone had be playing survival games in the campsite.
Beware of a gun attack.
I heard that the police has patrolled in the campsite in the midnight, so I am a little relieved.
On usual route, you can not go the upper site with your vehicle. If you want to go there, you will need to use a different route.
It is possible to set up your tent near your vehicle.
