There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.
The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

The campsite is located at the foot of Mountain Mikura-dake that is at the northern area of Otake city.
The tent pads are in the forest of the pine trees.
Beware of falling branches.
Another camping ground near the administration office is lawn area.
There are three wide cooking facilities in the campsite.
If you drink the water, you need to boil.
The fireplace has two big grills.
Don't leave your foods, because bears will come.
The toilet is a clean Flush Toilet.
The administration office is closed at 5 o'clock in the evening. If you will camp here, you need to check in until 5 o'clock.
The campfire circle is at the middle part of the campsite.
We had camped on Jan. 5 to 6.
I heard that the campsite would be opened on Jan. 6, so next day, I have checked in.
In the morning, it was so cold and sunny day. And the weather was great.
Only the flush toilet at the parking lot was be able to use.
We had been camping here on a torrential rainy day. The siteA we used is best position,it was not flooded.
We had a comfortable time without getting wet, because the cooking facility has a wide roof.
