There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.
The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

The campsite is located near the top of the Shin-zan mountain that is 2 km north from the center of Sera-cho town.
In the winter season, the road to the campsite is icy conditions.
The tent site is in front of the administrator's house, it is flat and wide. You can set up your tent beside your vehickle.
The administrator's house has restrooms and there is a water facility at the front of the restrooms.
The roof is very high, so I feel like the cooking facility is expansive. And ceiling light is available at night.
The sink is made of concrete and there is a concrete-made cooking table.
The water from the faucet is well-water, and unsuitable for human to drink.
The fireplace is made of concrete and fire-brick.
The 2 stage type grills are available.
It is a clean pit toilet.
The half space of the administrator's house is used as gazebo. It is wooden floor, so you will be able to spend a comfortable time even on a rainy day.
Another tent site is near the lake.
The site is wide, but it is surrounded by trees, so it become a poor sunshine place.
Most places are rough ground that is broken by wild boars, so it looks like a kitchen-garden.
There is a small lake in the campsite.
But we can not look the lake from the campsite, because the campsite is in the forest.
The wide lawn square is 800m ahead on the road from the campsite.
There is a observation deck behind the stage, we could looked over the mountain and city area of Sera-cho.
It is also possible to camp here, but there is no water facility. And the vehicle entry to the lawn square is prohibited.
