There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.
The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

The campsite is located near the top of Takataniyama mountain that is at the southwestern Miyoshi city area.
The tent site is on the top of a steep slope, and in the cedar forest.
When a wind blows, it is cool. The ground is almost gentle slope and soft soil.
Now here is not a campsite, so if you will camp here, please camp at your own risk.
The cooking facility is near the restrooms. And the parking lot is close to there too, so useful.
It is an old facility and looks like broken, but the water come from the faucet. The water is unsuitable for human to drink, but it is no problem to wash the tableware.

The fireplace was broken, and many broken bricks were piled up.
There were marks of the bonfire using the bricks at there.
The cooking facility has no wall, so please be careful about fire.
The restroom is at the southernmost part of the parking lot.
It is a simple flush toilet and an accessible toilet is available.
There is a large observation deck in the campsite.
We can see a full view of miyoshi city area from there.
There are sightseeing brochures for this town and around here. Those are distributed freely at the lower floor.
The night view from the observation deck is also beautiful.
We could see the night view from our tent, so that was very fun and beautiful, but many young people had been visitting here during the night, so it was noisy a little.
This park is a famous spot for viewing of sea of clouds.
If it is just good timing, you may see a sea of cloud from your tent.
But that time, significant congestion is expected, so you might not be able to sleep in the tent.
You would better to spend a night in your car at that time.
