There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.
The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

The campsite is located about 500 m west of the ferry landing place.
The tent site is under the steep cliff. The ground is flat and covered by lawn.
The sea view from the site is so nice, but the wind is very strong. There is a school near the campsite, but it is a quiet place.
If you will camp here, you must check in at the Mishima-mura kaihatsu-sogo center.
The cooking facility is near the entrance of the campsite, and it has the brick-made fireplace.
The sink is at the center, and both side of the sink are able to use as tables for cooking.
The hot spring bathing facility is available for free at there.
It opens at 14:00 - 19:30 on every Tues., Thurs.,Sat.
The spring quality is simple hot spring.
The restroom is at the pool near the campsite.
It is a flush toilet.
Ferry Mishima arrive at the takeshima-island from the port of Kagoshima in 3 hours, and it is 40 minute later, arrive at the Ioojima-island.
Eating and drinking are prohibited in the second-class cabin, but it is possible at the lounge or the observation deck.
The fare is 3600 yen (one way, second-class cabin).
The Higashi-onsen (hot spring) is 3 km of the east from the campsite. It is available for free.
It is wonderful location, the view is so nice.
The hot spring water is a sulphur spring, so if you take a bath for a long time, it causes skin irritation.
The color of the sea in the Ioojima port is strange color.
It changes into a reddish brown, because of the hot spring that wells up from the sea bed.
