There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.
The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

The campsite is located at the riverside of the upper Nakatake River. The private houses are far from the campsite, so It's quiet.
The campground is a grassland and flat.
There are some tree shade in the campsite. In summer, it's better to set up the tent in the shade.
The site is close to parking lot, so it's easy to bring in the camping baggage.
The roof of the cooking facility is so high and airy.
There are wooden tables for cooking with side of the sink, so it is useful.
The fireplace is made of firebricks. Some firebricks has been taken out from the fireplace, so you can also make a small fireplace by using that.
The grills is available too.
The toilet is at the back of the cooking facility. It is a clean flush toilet.
An accessible toilet is available.
In the toilet, there are changing rooms for playing in the river.
The changing room is anytime available not only in summer.
The river is very beautiful and clear water. And it is cold water in summer.
Please be careful of a deep part when children are swimming.
Some part is so deep, my feet can not reach the bottom of the river.
It was sunny and hot every day. We had enjoyed to play in the river.
In the night, It is so cool because cold air from the river comes in.
There is no shop around the campsite, so it is better shopping before you go to the campsite.
Now, it is prohibited to make a bonfire, and use a electrical outlet.
This is a public facility. Please do a moral behavior about to use the facilities.
