There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.
The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

The campsite is located at Shimane prefectural Iwami beach park (B zone). It is at the north area of Hamada city.
There are 4 areas of the campsite in the park, everywhere of the campsite is covered by lawn. Some place is gentle slope, but almost is flat ground. It is a beautiful view of the beach and sea.
The campsite of the westernmost side is at the under the mountain, so there is not effects of the wind. But a strong wind is blowing at the other camp areas.
There are 4 cooking facilities in the campsite.
The cooking facility of westernmost and at the cabin has a cooking table.
The sink is made of concrete, and the water from the faucet is tap water.
The cock of the faucet is hard to use, so please be careful as to not get wet.
The fireplace is made of concrete, and has a iron tough grill.
The inside of the fireplace has been cleaned well by administrator.
There is a drum can that is used as used charcoal dust box at the easternmost campsite.
There is many restrooms in the park. Even in the campsite, 4 restrooms are at there.
All of the toilet are flush toilets.
At the restrooms near the lawn square called "Shibafu hiroba", the accessible toilet is available.
The westernmost restrooms and the cabin's restrooms has a coin-shower rooms. It is hot water.
It is available for 24 hours.
The charge is 200 yen and for 2 minutes.
There is a small gazebo in the campsite.
Sekishugawara is used as roof tile. It is famous for Japanese roof tile made of ceramics.
And there is a large gazebo near the beach, but it seems many people use in summer season.
There are some garbage places in the campsite.
If you separate your garbage, you will be able to throw away even metallic wastes there.
The campsite is far from the parking lot, but it is available a two-wheeled cart for bring the camp baggage.
The white beach and blue ocean are very beautiful.
The campsite is higher than the beach, so there is no sand dust.
In the night, the beach is lighted by the streetlight, so we could walk on the sandy beach without flash light. And it was a beautiful starry sky.
During the day time, many hawk-like birds called "Tonbi" are flying over our heads to steal our foods. Beware of theft of your foods.
