There are many free campsites in Japan. If you will camp in Japan, in most cases you have to reserve and get permission for use the campsite.
The campsites is crowded on the weekend and holiday. So you should better to reserve the campsite beforehand.

The campsite is located on the small hill in the center of the Shunan city.
There are a lot of people walking and running in the park, because this park is near the large city area. And the parking lot is closed in the night, so the vehicle can not to enter the parking lot during night.
The campsite is close to a residential area, but it is so quiet. The ground is everywhere flat and spacious place.
It is old open-air facility. The water is seem tap water.
And the hand-washing facility at the entrance of the toilet have a roof, so on a rainy day, it's good.
It is open-air facility, too. It is almost bonfire.
It is a clean flush toilet.
The lighting will be turned on in the night.
The concrete-made benches are available. There are in front of the Fireplaces.
The residential area is close to the campsite. There is another gate of the park at the campsite.
If you bring your baggage into the campsite, It is better to use this gate. But parking is prohibited around the gate, so don't parking a vehicle for a long time.
Firewood are available.
If you want to camp here, you need check-in at the reception desk of Shunan city-hall.
